Why it matters
Short answer: yes. A rug pad is the quiet layer that makes every rug better — softer underfoot, safer on your floors, and steady in place instead of bunching at the corners.
Our three pads share the same 1/4" dense-felt construction and floor-friendly grip. They differ on one axis only: what shape and size you need. Pre-made pads ship ready for standard rugs. Custom area pads are cut to any rectangle up to 12' wide. Custom runner pads are cut to any length for hallways, kitchens, and narrow entries.
Size the pad roughly 1" smaller on each side than your rug so the edges stay hidden. Everything else — grip, cushion, floor protection — is already handled by the felt.

Know before you buy
A rug pad should sit 1–2 inches inside the rug's edge on every side. That keeps the pad invisible, lets the rug's edge taper to the floor, and still grips the full walking surface.

For most rooms, 1/4 inch is the answer: enough dense felt to feel underfoot, low enough to clear door swings and keep the rug's edge from becoming a trip point. It's the only thickness we make — on purpose.
